Woman dies in collision in Romford

A COLLISION between a motor vehicle and a female pedestrian led to the death of the pedestrian, a 22 year old woman. Her next of kin are aware of the tragedy.

The collision occurred just before 9pm on Wednesday, 19th June on the A12 at Gallows Corner. Police attended the scene, along with the London Ambulance Service and the Air Ambulance. The pedestrian was taken to a south London hospital, in a critical condition. Sadley she died two days later.

The driver of the motor vehicle stopped at the scene and was not arrested. The police are now investigation the circumstances of the incident.

Detective Sergeant Jose Qureshi is leading the investigation. He said, “Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident. I am asking for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has dash cam footage, to make contact with us as soon as possible.”
