IT SHOULD have been a simple, fun Hallowe’en party at a community centre in James Close, Plaistow, Newham. It was fine – until eight to ten masked men arrived and stabbed an 18 year old party-goer.
The stabbing happened at around 7.45pm last Wednesday, 28th October. The injured teen was stabbed several times in the upper body and arms. The London Ambulance Service arrived and took him to hospital. Initially his injuries were assessed as life-threatening, but he was later assessed as stable, with injuries that might be life-changing.
The police are treating the attack as attempted murder, and they are asking members of the public to help their investigation.
Detective Inspector Sam Lockstone, who is leading the investigation, said, “We are grateful to those who have come forward so far. However, there were a lot of young people at the party who fled when the stabbing happened, and it is really important that they contact police and offer any information they can to help with our enquiries.
“The victim was subject to a violent attack, and we want to know if you have any video footage taken during or after the party or witnessed anything that could help with our investigation.”
