Batch of pasta salads may make you very ill

THREE KINDS of pasta salads have been withdrawn from sale because they may contain listeria monocytogenes. This can cause a serious infection – particularly in the very young, older people, pregnant women and others with a weakened immune system.

The salads are made by Greencore and are sold in a number of outlets. The affected salads are:

Asda Cheese & Tomato Pasta Salad
Pack size 300g, Product Code 5063089221990, use by 10th August

Asda Nacho Cheese Pasta Salad
Pack size 300g, Product Code 5063717198311, use by 9th August

Morrisons Chicken and Bacon Pasta
Pack size 300g, Product Code 5010251790587, use by 7th August

Anyone who has eaten these salads should watch out for the symptoms of listeria infection. These are very similar to flu symptoms – such as a high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick and diarrhoea. In some cases, the infection can develop into meningitis – so don’t take any risks. If you experience these symptoms, you should consult a medical practitioner.

If you have one of these products, do not eat it. Return it to your nearest store, where you will receive a full refund. You do not need to produce a receipt.
