The Thames today

TODAY WE continue with our occasional series The Thames today.

The Thames forms the southern boundary of four East London boroughs: Tower Hamlets, Newham, Barking & Dagenham and Havering. In one way it is a barrier, sealing off one direction of exit. In other ways, it is a magnificent natural resource, which most of us take it for granted.

Today’s photo was taken on 5th April 2021 on the Isle of Dogs and shows a confused seagull. The bird had turned up for a meeting at the regular place and time – not realising that Covid safety measures had seen the meeting transferred back online. Well, we’ve all been there.

“Where IS everybody? Did I get the time right?”

If you have a photo of the Thames which you would like to share with our readers and viewers, please send it to us on eastlondonnews@gmail.com, stating when and where it was taken and whether you would like a photo credit.
