Samson murder: police renew appeal for help

IT WAS ANOTHER murder in Hackney E5. Oluwamayowa Ademyemi, known as Samson, was shot in the street late in the night on 5th June. Now police are making a fresh appeal for help from the public.

Police made five arrests shortly after the murder. The first three men were arrested on suspicion of being concerned with the murder. They were released on bail, to report back to the police in July.  They have now been released under investigation.  The man and woman arrested on 23rd June on suspicion of perverting the course of justice were released on bail and must report back to police at the end of July.

On 7th July two further people were arrested in connection with this crime.
A 28 year old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the murder. He has been released on bail and is to report back to the police in early August.
A 23 year old woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offer.  She has been released under investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Considine, leading the investigation, said: “A month has now passed since Samson was shot. His family are still struggling to come to terms with his death. They are desperate to know why this happened to their loved one. I am convinced that people within the community hold that information. I would urge them to do the right thing and contact my team or Crimestoppers and tell me who is responsible for Samson’s murder.”
