A SERIOUS assault has left a man with life-threatening injuries. Now police are appealing to the public for help with the investigation.
The emergency services were called to Penny Brookes Street, Stratford at abot 9.15pm on Saturday, 22nd August after reports came in that there had been a serious assault. When the police and the London Ambulance Service arrived, they found a man with severe injuries, who they believe to be in his 30s. He was taken to hospital and remains in a life-threatening condition.
The suspects managed to flee the scene before the emergency services arrived. The police investigation is continuing and no arrests have yet been made.
Detective Sergeant Justina Rackauskaite, who is leading the Met’s investigation, stressed the seriousness of the victim’s injuries. “A man remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries following this assault,” she said, “and our investigation is progressing at pace to establish the circumstances leading up to this incident.
“We have conducted a range of enquiries and are now appealing for the public’s help. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was in the Penny Brookes Street area that evening and may have seen something.
“I would also urge anyone with CCTV, doorbell camera or dashcam footage that could assist our enquiries, to contact us. Every piece of information helps with our investigation.”
