AS POLICE continue to investigate a murder in St Bartholomew’s Road, Newham, the victim has been named as Masum Miah, 42.
Gunshots were heard in St Bartholomew’s Road at around 3am on the morning of Tuesday, 18th August. The emergency services came to the scene and found Mr Miah in a car. He had been shot, and he was declared dead at the scene.
Police launched an immediate investigation, and they are continuing to appeal to anyone who has any information about the incident to come forward.
Detective Chief Inspector Dan Whitten, who is leading the investigation, made it clear that the police were thinking of Mr Miah’s family, who are being supported by specialist officers. He went on to appeal for help from the public, saying, “If you were in the area at the time of the shooting, witnessed anything suspicious or have any dashcam, CCTV or doorbell footage that could support our investigation, we urge you to get in touch. No matter how big or small the information you have is, it could prove vital in helping us piece together the full circumstances.”
