Hackney special constable axed after indecency

A CONVICTION for making indecent images of children has seen a Special Constable being dismissed from the Metropolitan Police. Special Constable George Corr was attached to Hackney.

An investigation by Surrey Police found 1,656 indecent images and videos of children on his computer. Corr appeared at Kingston Crown Court on 2nd February, where he pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children.

On 27th February Corr was given a two year suspended prison sentence. He was ordered to attend a 60 day rehabilitation course in conjunction with the Probation Service and to complete 175 hours of unpaid work. He was issued with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order to run for 15 years and has been included in the Children’s Barred List.

Accordingly, a special case hearing was held on 10th May, where Corr faced charges that his conduct amounted to a breach of the standards of professional behaviour in respect of discreditable conduct.

At the hearing, the Chair considered the evidence and found Corr guilty of gross misconduct and he was dismissed without notice.
