WHILE THOUSANDS of Londoners were busy cycling 100 miles through London, Neo Cricket Club took on Ocean XI CC at the Peter May Sports Ground in the National Cricket League (NCL) Champions Division fixture.
Ocean won the toss and decided to bat first on a flat batting pitch and put up a huge total of 314 all out from 39 overs. Nav was the stand out performer with the bat for Ocean, scoring 107 before he was dismissed by Neo CC skipper Ayaz. Nobel, Zisan, Ayaz and Ashraful took two wickets each.
Ashraful and Nobel provided a brilliant start for Neo CC, scoring 55 runs from five overs. Strike bowler Waziri dismissed both openers, but Shihan (39) and Zisan put up a 55 run partnership before Shihan fell to an LBW by off spinner Oufa.
After this it was the “Zisan Show”, and he was well supported by Juwel with a brilliant 57 not out till the end. Zisan’s master class 146 came from 92 balls with 21 fours and two huge sixes over mid-wicket.
Captain Ayaz Karim added, “It was a result of a collective team effort and Zisan’s innings will be remembered for many years to come.”
