The Women’s Environmental Network (WEN) has released details of its Summer Gathering. The event will be on Sunday, 24th August at Spitalfields City farm, between 12 noon and 5pm. As usual there will be workshops, stalls and a tour of the farm and gardens, but this year there will also be music, donkey rides and children’s activities. Everyone is welcome to what should be a fun day celebrating food growing in Tower Hamlets.

There is still some space for local organisations to have stalls at the event and WEN is also looking for volunteers to help out on the day. For more information and to register in either capacity, contact Kate (kate@wen.org.uk).

WEN also points out that the Bromley by Bow Centre is recruiting for a Horticulture Co-ordinator to lead on their Roots East project. All the details are on their website: http://www.bbbc.org.uk/work-for-us.  The deadline for applications is 29th July.

The Mudchute Farm is hosting a full Permaculture Design Course this autumn. Sessions take place during weekends between September and December. The Permaculture website has more information:
