Man charged with murder of Yasmin Begum in Bethnal Green

A HACKNEY MAN has been charged with the murder of Yasmin Begum, 40, who died in Bethnal Green on 24th March.

The man who was charged has been named as Quyum Miah, 40, of High Street, Homerton. He was also charged with burglary and two counts of fraud by false representation.

A local school alerted police when Ms Begum did not arrive to collect her children at home time. Police went to her home in Globe Road, E2, and found Ms Begum, who had been stabbed.  The London Ambulance Service also attended and despite the best efforts of emergency service staff she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post mortem established that the cause of death was multiple sharp force injuries.
