More than a thousand Muslims gathered at Isleworth Deen Centre’s “Eid in the Park” celebration in Redlees Park, West London on 27th May. Families joined together at the event which was organised by Isleworth Deen Centre (IDC).

The atmosphere was filled with the sound of Takbir as worshippers arrived in large numbers. The Eid prayer commenced at 10am and was led by IDC Chair and Khateeb, Shaykh Abu Sayed Ansarey. After the prayer, the Eid khutbah was delivered, followed by a special supplication for the peace, prosperity, and unity of the Muslim Ummah, as well as for the wellbeing of humanity across the world.

This joyful Eid celebration brought together people of all ages in a vibrant and festive atmosphere. Children and young people took part in various games and entertainment activities, creating a lively and energetic environment. The park featured a wide range of attractions and stalls. Attendees enjoyed food and soft drink stalls, ice cream, henna, balloons🎈, bouncy castles, a wild animal experience, plants🪴, and many other attractions throughout the day.

Families expressed their happiness at being able to celebrate Eid together on a beautiful sunny day. As this was the first time such an event had been held at Redlees Park, appreciation and thanks were extended to the IDC management for organising such a successful and memorable celebration.

After the Eid prayer, worshippers exchanged greetings and embraced one another warmly. Guest speakers addressed the congregation, including MP Ruth Cadbury, Councillor Sue Sampson, Councillor Salman Shaheen, and other community leaders and dignitaries. They praised the initiative for promoting community cohesion and family togetherness, and extended their Eid greetings to all present. In her speech, MP Ruth Cadbury highlighted the current Labour Government’s efforts to strengthen the security of mosques and other places of worship belonging to faith communities.

During the event, prizes and certificates were distributed to children who participated in the “Ramadan Kids Challenge”. It was also noted that during Ramadan, the children helped raise approximately £18,000 for IDC, which was widely appreciated by those present.
