First badminton of 2022 won’t be the last!

THE NEW YEAR opened with a fantastic badminton tournament held in East London by well-known badminton promoter and coach Abdallah Mohim.

The tournament, held on Sunday, 2nd January, saw British Bangladeshi teams come from all over London to take part in the category D men’s double competition.

The results were as follows.
•Champions: Jubayrul Miton and Hussain (London Sportif)
•Runners-up: Shofiul Shumon and Alomgir Al Karim
•Third place: Salam and Jane Alam
•Fourth place: Abul Hayat and Amru Miah (London Sportif)
•Star Players: Shumon and Alomgir

After the tournament I spoke to host Abdullah Mohim, who said, “My New Year’s resolution is to promote badminton to our young generation. That way we can keep our young children busy and involved in sports activities.” He also thanked all the volunteers who helped him arrange this tournament and congratulated all the winners.

After the tournament there was a presentation ceremony and dinner, which was held in Momoland Japanese
