Why do they always forget the residents?

TONIGHT, The Tuesday Show asks why residents seem to be treated as an inconvenience by any authority trying to redevelop East London or to provide public services.

ELN editor Jenny Fisher is joined by two community activists from Lansbury ward in Tower Hamlets who are saying “enough is enough!” Whether it’s the traffic (why has the ward turned into a twice daily giant traffic jam?) or the consequences of building expensive new flats without realising that new residents will need local services – and a way to get in and out of the area – it seems that none of these powerful bodies worry about what will happen to local residents when they implement their plans.

Is it the same where you live? Join Jenny live tonight at 10pm as Lansbury activists Jahed Choudhury and Iqbal Hussain ask where it all went wrong. Phone in to the studio and tell your story on 0208-1234507.
