Two arrests after Chingford man is murdered

POLICE ARE investigating the murder of Mark Baker, 62, from Chingford. He was found unconscious, with a head injury, in Peacock Close, Walthamstow, in the last minutes of Sunday, 19th April.

The London Ambulance Service went to Peacock Close and took Mr Baker to an East London hospital. He was found to be in a critical condition and died on 5th May.  A post mortem later gave a provisional cause of death as a head injury.

The death is being investigated by homicide police officers from the Specialist Crime Command, who have made two arrests. The first arrest was of a man, aged 41, who has been charged with some offences. The second arrest, of a man aged 28, came on 6th May. The second man was originally held in custody, but he has since been bailed and will report to police in June.
