Suspect named in search for Hackney bus sex attacker

POLICE HAVE NAMED a man they wish to speak to in connection with a sexual assault which took place on a 243 bus on Sunday, 31st May. He is David O’Brien, 51.

The offence occurred as the bus made its way along Stoke Newington Road, N16. A woman in her 20s had fallen asleep on the bus – and woke to find a man sexually assaulting her. She was stocked and distressed when she realised what was happening – and the attacker then got off the bus at the stop near the junction with Princess May Road, N16.

Police believe O’Brien used to live in Westminster and that he often spends time in Woolwich and New Cross. They believe he often travels around London on buses. He is known to speak with an Irish accent.
