Captain Shaha Riadh said: “It’s always a great pleasure to beat Newham. They are our local rivals and there is a healthy and respectful rivalry between both teams. The boys were superb throughout and I couldn’t ask for more. We will continue to prepare fully for our next match.”

Joint men of the match were Ahmed Norharif and Walid Ahmed. Malaysian star Norharif said: “I’m still finding my feet and adapting to the game. I am getting to know my team mates and I’m really pleased with today’s wickets. I’m playing in a great team and can see us doing even better.”

Walid Ahmed added: “The weather was good and the support of my team mates was spot on throughout. We rise and fall together and I’m just really happy the team won to secure the points.”
