The Met Office has issued two weather warning for London at the start of 2025.
First, there was a warning about strong winds on New Year’s Day. There were reports of minor damage around the borough, particularly in exposed areas. Cubitt Town School seemed to have suffered from a wandering fence panel which had an argument with a shrub (above). One resident reported that the top half of a panel on their balcony had been ripped off (right). The winds were expected to abate as the day went on.
Second, the Met has issued a yellow warning of snow. The warning starts at noon on Saturday, 4th January and lasts until 9am on Monday, 6th January. This is a warning, not a guarantee, but residents are advised to check up to date weather reports if they are travelling around East London or going further afield.
