Emdad Rahman: Mikael Mustafa of Hermitage School has been earmarked as a future Martial Arts star after receiving recognition for his Karate skills.
The seven year old has been attending Karate club at the John Orwell Sports Centre in Wapping for 3 months.

Mikael, who trains with his best friend Akira said: “I’m really happy with my medal and I have shown it to my friends. In the school holidays I’m going to take it with me to Liverpool and show it to my Grandma, Grandad, my Aunts, Uncle and cousins.”

“Mikael is so proud of his achievement,” said his Mother Amina. “We enrolled him at the club to keep him busy with a hobby.

“Since attending Mikael has become very focussed. He is fit, healthy and very happy. “The classes have been inspiring for Mikael and have provided an outlet to channel his energy. The positive impact on his life in general has been terrific.

“I’d like to thank the John Orwell Sports Centre for initiating such tremendous activities for young children.”

Mikael holds the White Belt and is learning the Renshinkai Karate style.
