“Good Samaritan” stabbed in Ilford

A PASSER-BY came to the aid of two women as they were being attack by a group of teenagers – and ended up being stabbed. Fortunately, although his wound required hospital treatment it was not too serious and he was not kept in hospital.

The incident occurred in Green Lane, near the junction with South Park Road, on Sunday, 28th April at around 8pm. The two women were sat in a black Mercedes E Class car.

Police believe there were five male teenagers, all under 18 years of age, in the group which attacked them. The suspects all rang away from the scene. Some are described as black and some as Asian.

Two young men have been arrested – one aged 15, the other 16 – on suspicion of causing Grievous Bodily Harm and released from custody while the investigation continues.

The investigating officer, DC Richard Butcher of East Area CID, said, “I am appealing for any witnesses to come forward. In particular I want to hear from anyone who saw any part of this incident or may have captured it on dashcam footage. This happened on a busy road in the early evening.”
