Bow stabbing: man charged as second victim found

WHAT’S GOING ON in Bow? Two women have been stabbed over the Bank Holiday weekend – in similar circumstances.

Attack 1: On Friday, 24th August, a woman in her 60s was stabbed in Chariot Close, Bow, E3. She needed hospital treatment for her injuries but fortunately they were not life threatening.

Attack 2: Police received reports at around 8.30pm on Sunday, 26th August, that a woman had been stabbed in Parnell Road, E3. They found a 57 year old woman, who was taken to an East London hospital by the London Ambulance Service. She had suffered several stab wounds, but fortunately her injuries were not life threatening.

A 51 year old man was arrested on suspicion of committing Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) on Sunday, in connection with the first attack. He was later released and police have now confirmed that no further action will be taken against him.

A 36 year old man was arrested on Monday morning, 27th August, at an address in Bow, on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder. He has now been named as Ivor Collingwood-Williams, 36, of Garrison Road, E3. Police have confirmed that he was charged the same day with two counts of Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) with intent and two counts of possessing an offensive weapon. He was due to appear in Thames Magistrates’ Court today, Tuesday, 28th August.
