Bike thieves hit Barking

TWO TEENAGERS have had their pedal bikes stolen in Mayesbrook Park, Barking. The incident happened at approximately 7.45pm on Tuesday, 26th June – and police are appealing for the public to help the investigation.

A group of five men came up to the teenagers and tried to take their bikes. The teens protested – but then the thieves threatened them with a machete, forcing the boys to hand over their bikes. It is believed that some of the other men had knives.

The stolen bicycles were red, but no other description is available. The matter is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police East Area Command Robbery Unit.
