Another fatal stabbing in Hackney

A YOUNG MAN lost his life in Hackney last Thursday, after being stabbed in Christie Road, at the junction with Cassland Road. He was just 24.

An ambulance was called at approximately 4.45pm. Paramedics called the police and the air ambulance, but just over an hour later the victim was declared dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police Homicide and Major Crime Command have launched a murder inquiry.

Detective Chief Inspector Jamie Piscopo who is leading the investigation, said, “We understand the victim was involved in an altercation with a group before he was fatally attacked. Were you there? Did you see anything that can assist police?  A large crowd had gathered shortly after the attack and following the victim collapsing in Christie Road. I would urgently appeal for those present to contact my team with information.”

Anyone with information that may assist police should call the incident room on 020-8721 4843. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800-555 111, where you can give information anonymously.
