Want a bit of a sing in Hackney?

Hackney Empire Community Choir is back! The Choir began in 2010 – launched by former BBC Last Choir Standing judge Sharon D Clarke, in partnership with former East London Gospel Choir music and choir director Joseph Roberts.

The choir has a glorious history of top level performances – singing with Leona Lewis at Radio 1’s Big Weekend and at the Albert Hall, as well as athe Paralympics Opening Ceremony.

The Choir also meets up for a sing at the Hackney Empire on Thursdays, where it tackles an eclectic mix of music (but which is always energetic and joyous). These regular meetings are a great social activity – and a good place for planning future performances.
