IN OCTOBER we usually celebrate Black History. This month we are looking at how Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) Councillors are making new history.

Cllr Rajib Ahmed, Lansbury Ward, Tower Hamlets, 7th May 2015 – giving us a rare insight into the political thinking of the then ceremonial Mayor of Tower Hamlets. It was such a good Tweet, he tweeted it twice – and has only tweeted five times since. Rushanara Ali, Labour MP for Bethnal Green & Bow, replied, “thank you.”
