Aqib gets a Fifer as Scintilla win Semi Final

ESSEX COUNTY CRICKET LEAGUE
DIVISION 2/3 – CUP 2023 – (SEMI FINAL)

The Scintilla Cricket Club second team have reached the final of the Essex County Cricket League after beating Shane Moss CC at the London Marathon Playing Fields.

Scintilla won the toss and elected to bat. Teja Bodaganti was the pick of the batsmen with 48 runs as Scintilla were all bowled out for 172 after 25 overs.

Taqi Ahmed reached 26 and both Mehrab Sifat and Muhammad Nazir shared 46 runs.

In a very close game of nerves and tension Shane Moss were all bowled out for 163 after 37 overs as Scintilla scraped home.

Skipper Aqib Ejaz who took 5 wickets praised his team, “We are a very new squad and we have bought in new faces this season. Our club philosophy is strong and this helps to settle new members. This was evident today as we dug deep to secure a final place.”

Scintilla will now play either Bow Green or Redbridge in the final.
