Platinum Jubilee Litter-pick for Darul Ummah Goresbrook

Muhammad Talha

DARUL UMMAH GORESBROOK celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a litter pick in Goresbrook. The joint operation was part of the community group’s regular outreach efforts in Barking & Dagenham.

The group conducted a neighbourhood clean up as per of their regular volunteering. Working in partnership with the Little Litter League, the youngsters collected 19 rubbish bags. Most of the rubbish collected consisted of plastic packing, fast food boxes and a whole host of cans and bottles.

Volunteer Zoinul Abidin BEM commented, “The Queen is an extraordinary human and we share her community values of fairness and prosperity for all. The litter pick is an activity in line with these values and it brings communities together. We are proud to play our part!”

Emdad Rahman from the Little Litter League added, “Litter picking is a really important activity and I have found this to be the best way to raise awareness. People stop by to talk to us all the time, and we do enjoy the friendly vibe. It brings the community closer together.”
