AN INNOCENT man was shot as he stood outside a birthday party. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 13th October ast year, outside the Factory 15 venue in Linton Road, Barking.
The man who was killed was Hanif Redwood. His family has now appealed to the public to help them secure jutice. They have issued a statement saying, “Hanif was a bright spark whose light has been dimmed far too soon. He was an innocent, hardworking and loving father of two, and it is heartbreaking to think that he has been taken away from us.
“As his family, we are imploring anyone with information to make their voices heard, and to help us get justice for our beloved Hanif. To those who may know or may have seen or heard what took place on that horrific night, any information you have will be of great value to us to help the authorities apprehend those that carried out such a dreadful act.”
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder and a further seven men have been arrested in connection with this crime. All have been released on bail or pending further investigation.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Rogers, who is leading the investigation, backed the family’s call. He said that the police have made “significant progress” with the investigation, but they need more help to secure a conviction. He stressed that any information, however small, could be that last piece of the jigsaw that secures a breakthrough.
