Boris patronises the people (again)

Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby team captain Mike Kerr and team members Kylie Grimes and Mike Brown are pictured with London Mayor Boris Johnson. Mayor Johnson supports the Coalition Government, which has slashed funding and support from school and public sports facilities and groups and which has also taken benefits away from disabled people (most recently, threatening to remove support funds from blind students). The Coalition is doing this in order to make up for the hugely costly bank bailouts – but while school students and disabled people pay for this expenditure, banks continue to pay their richest workers huge bonuses.

Anyway, none of this stopped Mayor Boris patronising all concerned by taking to a wheelchair to announce that the first World Wheelchair Rugby Challenge will take place at London’s Copper Box Arena at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park between 11-16th October 2015.  He said that this one off challenge will “cement the Olympic legacy”. Funny old world.
