Bishwanath Sports Association UK (BSA UK) held their celebration event after winning the Greater Sylhet Upazila tournament held by Sonali Othith on in August.
All participating Upazila representatives, recognised community members, sports supporters, Bishwanath players, dignitaries and the BSA management came together to celebrate the teams phenomenal grassroots football success.
During the summer the Bishwanath team created history by winning the Greater Sylhet Upazila cup for the third time. This is the first time any team has managed this feat and makes them the greatest team from the Sylhet region of Bangladesh.
In celebrating their success BSA honoured all sponsors from the inception of the side to the present and notable citations were reserved for Bangladeshi sports personalities who have made the grade to professional level as well as others who have excelled in prominent positions in society.
BSA recognised and awarded individuals from the fans group, senior players representing Bishwanath in the Sylhet District teams as well as the overall squad.
Outstanding performers in this years tournament and past years received praise for their contributions.
Amongst the dignitaries present were Apsana Begum MP, Mayor of Newham Rahima Rahman, Mayor of Redbridge Jyotsna islam, Speaker of Tower Hamlets Jahed Choudhury, professional boxer Khalid Ali and others.
The programme was presented by chairman Koys Miah and Secretary Anfor Ali.
The BSA management, which also includes vice chair Yakub Ali thanked guests for coming together to celebrate their collective success.
