Was East London harbouring war criminal?

THE METROPOLITAN POLICE War Crimes Team came to East London first thing this morning – and arrested a 51 year old woman.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of carrying out torture during atrocities which took place during the civil war in Liberia, between 1989 and 1993. Two addresses, one in East London and one in central London, are being searched in connection with the arrest.

The War Crimes Team is liaising with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Crown Prosecution Service as it continues its investigation. No further details have been released.
