Workhouse To Host Bus Drivers Charity Football

A group of local bus drivers are putting on their shooting boots to play football for charity.

Ten teams will be taking part in the 5 a side charity football tournament on Sunday 1st December at the iconic Poplar Workhouse in London E14.

The live draw on LB24TV was conducted by Ferdous Miah, a veteran bus driver, Rashid Ali, Chairman of the Inner London Football League and coach Emdad Rahman.

Tournament Co-ordinator Abdul Hussain is promising a memorable day, “Come what may we are determined to put on a great show to highlight the great and the good. We are grateful for everyone’s support and we hope to raise lots of money for those who are suffering and in great need.”

Rashid Ali, Chairman of the Inner London Football League commented, “This is an outstanding concept and it’s impressive how such diverse groups in our community come together to support vital causes. The volunteers at the Inner London Football League are proud to support such a great cause.”

All funds raised will support the work of Seeds of Sadaqah.

Kick off is 9am and as a family event there will be food, snacks, treats and activities throughout the day.
