Vitamin D supplement recalled

A pharmaceutical company is recalling two products because they contain more vitamin D than is recorded on the label.

The manufacturer is TriOn Pharma and it produces vitamin D supplements named Aactive D3 – as drops and as a solution.
The recalled drops are labelled as Active D3 2,000iu/ml Oral Drops. They come in a 20m size, their batch code is LS23317 and their best before date is November 2025.
The recalled solution is labelled as Active D3 2,000iu/ml Oral Solution. It comes in a 50ml size, its batch code is LS23318, and its best before date is also November 2025.

The Food Standards agency has advised the public that taking too much vitamin D can lead to high levels of calcium in the blood, which may lead to nausea, vomiting, weakness, lethargy, constipation, aches and pains, thirst, weight loss and cardiac dysrhythmias.

Members of the public are advised not to consume these products, which should be returned to the store where they were bought for a full refund. Shoppers can contact TriOn Pharma on 02392-255 770 or info@trionpharma.co.uk.
