Keston Village Hall came alive with colour, conversation and connection as the South East Bangladeshi Association hosted a joyful community gathering, drawing more than 150 guests from across South East London. The event radiated warmth, inclusivity and pride, celebrating shared heritage while strengthening local bonds.
Proceedings were confidently hosted by Hasan Mahmud, under the guidance of Mohammed Mamun. The programme began on a reflective note with a heartfelt welcome from President Moynul Islam, followed by a beautiful recitation from the Holy Quran by Master Uzair, setting a respectful and uplifting tone.
Families enjoyed a packed schedule of activities. Children showcased creativity and faith through drawing and Qira’at competitions, while the ladies’ musical chairs contest filled the hall with laughter and friendly competition. Winners were rewarded with prizes, but the real prize was the shared joy.
A key highlight was the introduction of the Association’s newly appointed committee:
• Moynul Islam – President
• Hasan Mahmud – Vice President
• Mohammed Mamun – Secretary
• Tarek Aziz – Assistant Secretary
• Hussain Miah – Treasurer

The cultural segment struck an emotional chord. Artist Rana Khan delivered a stirring rendition of the Bangladesh National Anthem, followed by soulful performances from emerging singer Durba Deb, whose voice captivated the audience.
Heartfelt appreciation was extended to the volunteer team: Mahmud Jnr, Kabir Miah, Anar Miah, Shahadoth Sayem, Rahin, Tanvir, Tahmid, Shaon, Rashed and Iftekhar, alongside the women’s volunteer group led by Farzana, whose dedication ensured the event ran seamlessly.
The Association also acknowledged the generous support of sponsors including Khazana, Curry Mahal, Lebanese Flame, Master Craft Maintenance, Swanley Foot Clinic, Khan Barbers, Smart Move Education Group, Mohammad Shah & Co. LLP, and Star of India.
Closing the gathering, President Moynul Islam thanked attendees for their trust and participation, reaffirming the Association’s mission to nurture unity, celebrate culture and serve the community with purpose.
