Teen robbed by gang in Dagenham

A GOOD SAMARITAN helped a 14 year old boy get away from a gang in Dagenham on 23rd June. Now the police are asking the public for help in finding the suspects.

It was just after 6pm when the victim was threatened by a group of men as he was making his way along Gorse Way. One of the gang threatened him with a knife and then took his phone.

The victim called out for help, and the suspects gave him the phone back. The victim then managed to run off – chased by the gang. Fortunately a “good Samaritan” then intervened and drove the fleeing victim to a place of safety.

The man who threatened the victim with a knife is described as a black male, aged approximately 16, wearing black clothing and a bandana headband.
Detective Superintendent Neil Matthews, from the East Area Command Unit, said, “This was a violent and brazen attack on a young boy. Thankfully a brave member of the public saw the victim running away and took him to safety.”
