Scintilla BD make it three in a row

THE LAST GAME of the calendar year saw Scintilla CC BD wrap up proceedings with a hat trick of wins. 

At the BWDB Cricket Ground in Banani 11 and under the auspices of umpires Raisul Islam Nafis and Tanvir Mahmud Shihab, Scintilla lost the toss to allow opponents BDJobs to bat first. Despite 48 from Anik Chandra Sen Anik and 40 from Mostofa Kamal, BDJobs were reduced to 119 for 8 after 16.1 overs.

With club captain Ahmed Choudhury currently in Dhaka, Scintilla turned on the style to score 124 for no loss after 8.4 overs – to cruise home by 8 wickets with man of the match Omar Faruk and Arif Zaman scoring 52 runs each. Bellal Hossain and Shafayat Amin also contributed to a routine victory.

Man of the match Omar Faruk commented, “We have been threatening to put in a top performance and today we gave an indication of what we are capable of doing as a team.”
