ON BOXING DAY, a woman was killed in Newham. Just two days later, on 28th December, a man appeared at Thames Magistrates Court, charged with murdering her.
The victim’s body was found at a residential property in Earlham Grove, E7. She has now been formally identified as Kirsty Louise Ashley, 29. Her next of kin have been informed. A post-mortem examination took place on 27th December and gave the cause of death as blunt force trauma.
The suspect has been named as Yahya Aboukar, 26, of Earlham Grove. He was charged after an investigation into the circumstances of the case by homicide detective from the Metropolitan Police Specialist Crime Team.
Police have confirmed that the suspect and the victim were known to each other.
