Mustafa completes Ramadan walk challenge

Muhammad Talha

NINE YEAR OLD Mustafa Abidin has completed his Ramadan fasting charity challenge. The Manor Juniors pupil eased home as he took the course by storm to complete 100 laps of the garden at Darul Ummah Goresbrook.

Mustafa was joined by a number of local children and adults who had come along to support his great cause.

His father, Zoinul Abidin BEM, commented, “Mustafa has once again raised a great deal of money for charity. We are really proud of him, not just for this but also for the way he has touched people’s hearts.”

His coach, Emdad Rahman, added, “Mustafa’s exploits have attracted attention globally. He is emulating a British icon – the late Captain Sir Tom Moore. The fact that Mustafa was joined by inspired adults and children just goes to show how powerful his message is.”

The campaign #walkwithmustafa will be continuing, and Mustafa has revealed he has already made plans. “I feel it would be good to carry on doing similar things. I enjoy it and found the walk easy. I’m proud that young people came along. I think we sent a positive message out.”

The money raised will be used by Darul Ummah Goresbrook to support a local community which experiences poverty. Services they offer include gatherings  for the community, hosting councillor surgeries, liaison with organisations and litter picking.
