MM And FC London Serve Up Charity Showpiece

By Muhammad Talha

Under a bright summer sky, Mile End Stadium hosted a charity football spectacle that had everything: goals, drama, and a shared sense of purpose. The match, organised by MM Charity Group, proved a thrilling, end to end contest that left spectators entertained and inspired in equal measure.

The scoring opened early through Ifti, whose calm finish set the tone. Akki doubled the lead with a composed strike before Saiful and Toffuzul added to the tally. But the moment of the match belonged to Stepney legend Tariq, who unleashed an astonishing long range curler, bending the ball over the keeper in a goal that will be replayed in conversations for months to come.

With such a wide array of talented community legends on the pitch it was left to referee Emdad Rahman to keep the game flowing with a calm and authoritative presence, ensuring the match was played in the right spirit and with smiles all round.

The final score, however, was only part of the story. The real victory lay off the pitch with funds raised going directly towards vital causes, including support for the vulnerable, orphans, widows, the homeless, the elderly, students, farmers, home builds, and food parcels.

MM Charity Group are a close knit collective of friends united by their love for the beautiful game and their commitment to grassroots charitable efforts. Through events like this, they’ve turned football into a force for change.

Manager Pervez Choudhury reflected on the day’s success:“This was about football and about unity, compassion, and using what we love to make a difference. Every pass, every goal, it all means something bigger when you’re playing for others.”

Fokrul Uddin of FC London echoed the sentiment: “Charity football brings people together in a way nothing else can. It raises awareness, sparks conversations, and shows that sport can be a real tool for social good. Today was proof of that.”

From the first whistle to the last, the game embodied what charity football is all about – a mix of competition, and generosity, proving that when the community comes together, the result is always a win.
