Kilburn Lift Copa Moulvibazar 2025

Enfield, London – The sun shone down on Enfield College as hundreds of football fans witnessed Kilburn Moulvi Bazar lift the Copa Moulvibazar 2025 trophy after a thrilling day of competition, community, and celebration.

In only its second year, theCopa Moulvibazar has already cemented itself as a major highlight for the UK’s Moulvibazar diaspora, drawing teams from across the country to compete in a spirited display of talent and unity.

“This is about more than just football,” said Mahbub Alam Shamim, Chair of the Moulvibazar Sports Association. “It’s a celebration of identity, of brotherhood, and the exceptional talent within our community.”

After the group stages the tournament’s semi finals delivered high drama. Luton Moulvi Bazar edged past Banesree after a goalless draw and a nail biting penalty shootout, thanks to their goalkeeper’s heroics. Kilburn MB showed poise and control to dispatch Real MB with a convincing 2-0 win, securing a spot in the final.

The much anticipated final saw tactical battles and moments of brilliance. Hassan Miah opened the scoring for Kilburn with a stunning strike – a moment that sealed his Player of the Tournament award. Rising star Mohammed Tahin Chowdhury nearly sparked a Luton comeback, but Kilburn doubled their lead on the counter to seal a 2-0 victory.

Kilburn captain Ruhul Amin reflected on the moment: “This win means everything. We came here united, determined, and we delivered. This is for all our supporters.”

Luton manager Khalid Ali added: “We fell short, but the boys were outstanding. Full credit to Kilburn and we’ll be back stronger next year.”

Beyond the pitch, the event attracted over 500 spectators, with vibrant food stalls, family friendly activities, and a strong sense of cultural pride.

“This is just the beginning,” said organiser Mamun Alam. “Copa Moulvibazar is here to stay. We’ve shown that football can bring our community together like nothing else.”

With eyes now turning to Copa 2026, one thing is clear – the beautiful game has found a powerful new platform in the heart of the British Bangladeshi community.
