It’s time for the “design a Christmas card” comp

MAYOR LUTFUR RAHMAN has invited primary school pupils who live or go to school in Tower Hamlets to design a festive Christmas card. The Mayor will choose some of the best designs to send out as Council cards this year.

Mayor Rahman is looking for designs that capture the festive spirt of Christmas but also have a link with Tower Hamlets. Cards should be designed by the children themselves.and be as inventive and colourful as possible.

Mayor Rahman is the person who brought free school dinners to all primary school pupils in Tower Hamlets: will any children draw a lovely Christmas dinner? Our Mayor loves sport too and has created competitions for children to play for the Mayor’s Cup in football and cricket. Can you draw children playing football in the snow?

The Mayor and his team spend hours each week helping local residents who have problems in their lives – very much following the spirit of Christmas all year round. There’s so many ideas to choose from!

Entrants must be five to eleven years old and either live or go to school in the Borough. Designs must be A5 size, either landscape or portrait and must show the child’s name, age, address, school and contact phone number. Entries should be scanned and attached to an email with “Mayor’s Christmas Card Competition” in the subect line. Please send your email to communications@towerhamlets.gov.uk by 2pm on Tuesday, 12th November. Please be on time, as late entries cannot be accepted. Entries may be sent out as Christmas cards and may be displayed on the Council website, social media and in the newsletters.
