I decided to donate some brand new books to the homeless soup kitchen because I saw Emdad Bhaiya (brother) organising soup kitchens, using his time to donate food and clothes with the needy.
I thought that I should do something too and believe that people have a right to have books – even if they can’t afford it.
This lockdown has been hard on people but Bhaiya has helped a lot, and I wanted to do that too.
I wanted to help make a difference just by donating a few books, I made that difference.
Bhaiya inspired me. I now know that a small kind act can make even the saddest person smile.
