Bow gets the safety treatment

A community safety surgery and walkabout was held in Bow East on 27th March to help reduce crime and anti-social behaviour (ASB). Organised by Tower Hamlets Council, it was the 14th in a series of interactive events held across the borough to raise awareness of community safety issues.

The walkabouts and surgeries bring councillors, police officers and professionals together to explore crime and ASB issues and how best to address them.  They have been led by the council’s community safety team, in conjunction with the police.

The Bow East surgery was followed by a walkabout in the local area, where Metropolitan Police officers were joined by the Safer Neighbourhood Team and Tower Hamlets Enforcement Officers (THEOs). Also in attendance were the council’s outreach and youth workers as well as Tower Hamlets Homes, Circle Old Ford Housing and the Community Safety Partnership. The walkabout visited areas where ASB and crime issues have been reported around Garrison Road, Roman Road and Tredegar Road.
