TWO NEW ORIENT footballers – Conor Wilkinson and Lee Angol – spent yesterday down at the Orient Trust Football Camp, where they met 60 young people who have been enjoying the activity.
The Football Camp is part of the Waltham Forest summer holiday activity programme, which is free to participating youngsters. The young people at the Football Camp spend their day enjoying games between themselves and skills sessions which are led by Club coaches.
Yesterday’s highlight for the young footballers was meeting the professional players, who held a Q&A session in which the young people could ask them anything. Questions came in about subjective matters such as what it’s like to be a professional footballer alongside objective inquires about the club and the team.
The two professionals also fitted in a session with a group who are studying for their Level 1 Sports Leaders UK qualification.
James Court, Lead Development Coach, Leyton Orient Trust, said:,“A huge thanks to Conor and Lee for taking time to come over and to meet with the young people and answer their questions. They are both a credit to the Club. It’s great we have this link that gives the young people the opportunity to meet professional footballers and ask questions about their life and career.”
