By admin1

February 21, 2018

SEVENTEEN IS THE unlucky number in Canning Town this month, as a third teenager was arrested on suspicion of the murder of Lord Promise Nkenda in Canning Town on Valentine’s Day.

Promise, as he was known, was just 17 years old when he was fatally stabbed in Goldwing Close, E16. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two 17 year old males were arrested on Saturday. They were later charged with murder and robbery. They appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 19th February, where they were remanded in custody until today, 21st February, when they were due to appear at the Old Bailey.

The third teenager – also 17 years old – was arrested on Monday and is being held at an east London police station.

The police are still keen to hear from anyone who saw the stabbing or was in the area of Goldwing Close around 8pm on 14th February – or who has any other information which can help them establish exactly how, and why, Promise’s short life ended.
