A WOMAN IN HER 60s was stabbed in Bow on Friday, 24th August. Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
It was shortly before 10pm when police were called to a residential address in Chariot Close, E3 – where they found the injured woman. She had been attacked by a man as she walked along the path that runs between Legion Terrace and Garrison Road.
The victim was taken to an East London hospital, where she remains, receiving treatment. Her injuries are described as not life-threatening.
The man who attacked her is described as a black male, aged in his 40s, of chubby build – and wearing grey clothing. After stabbing the victim, the man made off on foot.
Detective Constable Zack Chughtai of Tower Hamlets CID said, “I am appealing for any witnesses who saw a man fitting the description of the suspect running away from the area of the attack to contact police. The victim was on her way back from Roman Road, where she had just bought fish and chips, when she was approached by the suspect next to a children’s playground and was attacked. Our work continues to establish the motive behind this incident, and I would appeal to anyone who can assist the investigation to get in touch.”
