A pharmaceutical company is recalling two products because they contain more vitamin D than is recorded on the label.
The manufacturer is TriOn Pharma and it produces vitamin D supplements named Aactive D3 – as drops and as a solution. •The recalled drops are labelled as Active D3 2,000iu/ml Oral Drops. They come in a 20m size, their batch code is LS23317 and their best before date is November 2025. •The recalled solution is labelled as Active D3 2,000iu/ml Oral Solution. It comes in a 50ml size, its batch code is LS23318, and its best before date is also November 2025.
The Food Standards agency has advised the public that taking too much vitamin D can lead to high levels of calcium in the blood, which may lead to nausea, vomiting, weakness, lethargy, constipation, aches and pains, thirst, weight loss and cardiac dysrhythmias.
