EINSTEIN points out that achieving world peace means moving up to a whole different kind of global society. Although the richer nations claim that their armed forces have kept the peace since 1945, the world has been riddled with regional wars – in many of which the superpowers have intervened. How do we reach that new understanding? In April, we remember the anti-nuclear weapons Aldermaston march: our “Thoughts” this month will concentrate on aspects of peace.
