The Thames Today

By admin1

June 05, 2019

THE ENTIRE southern boundary of Tower Hamlets runs alongside the Thames – London’s major river, which cuts our capital city in two.

Sadly busy Tower Hamlets residents don’t always have time to admire the view – to watch the changing shapes and patterns of the water, to gaze at the river traffic (mechanical and natural) and to draw that inner calm that water generates.

Today we are launching a new series of photo-articles where we’ll share views of the Thames with our readers. Sometimes the views will be of how the Thames is today. On other occasions our pictures will be “today” in a more general sense. Either way, we hope you will stand still for a moment and enjoy our water with us.

This river is one of London’s great natural resources and, for the moment at least, it’s free to watch. Let’s do it!

•If you have a photo of the Thames which you would like to share with our readers and viewers, please send it to us via our Facebook page, stating when and where it was taken and whether you would like a photo credit.
