WHILE MOST OF US spent 8th June wondering what the General Election would bring us, staff at Taj accountants were waiting to hear the winners of the 2017 Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Professional Member Awards.
Fortunately, there were celebrations in the Whitechapel office as managing director Abul Nurujjaman won the Licensed Member of the Year award.
Mr Nurujjaman came from Bangladesh to study in the UK at the age of 21 before qualifying and then starting his own practice. Now, just 14 years later, his business has just moved into new premises in Whitechapel an increased its number of staff from three to eight in order to deal with the business of the company’s 400 clients. As well as handling clients’ business, the company also spreads awareness of accountancy issues in the community through several varied media platforms.
The Member of the Year award was made to Mr Nurujjaman in recognition of his sophisticated marketing strategy and application of technology to improve business practice. The judges were particularly impressed by the way in which Taj Accountants has partnered with several software providers.
After collecting his award, Abul Nurujjaman said, “I am really honoured and delighted to receive this prestigious award, which is recognition of my professional excellence at Taj Accountants. Our aim is to maintain this top class service to the community and wider business society. I am sure the award will become an encouragement for us, our community and other professional service providers.”
Nicky Fisher, AAT President, said, “As a result of the quality and volume of submissions received, our judges had a very tough task both in putting together the final shortlists and then choosing the overall winners. We’d like to congratulate all winners and shortlisted members for their achievements, and I’m confident these awards will become an integral part of AAT Annual Conferences to come.”
